Thomas French Fine Art
Georges Rouault (1871-1958) was a painter, draughtsman and printmaker best known for his emotive expressionist style. Inspired by the stained glass in gothic cathedrals, his imagery is immeditately loved and recognized. This special offering has been accumulated over several years and allows collectors to purchase Rouault prints starting at $250. Many of the examples are from the Miserere Series, including the most famous "Qui ne se grime pas (Who Does Not Wear a Mask?)." This image, reputed to be a self portrait, is one of the icons of mid-twenieth century printmaking. We hope you share our enthusiasm for this great artist. Patrons are encouraged to take advantage of a special 15% discount through Labor Day, September 1. Enjoy!
