Two More Opportunities!

Thomas French Fine Art will be exhibiting at two more fairs this month – that’s two more opportunities to meet, greet, and see our outstanding offerings in person.

The Minneapolis Institute of Arts is hosting their 18th Annual Print and Drawing Fair this weekend.  Held in the Target Reception Hall, hours are Saturday, April 16: 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, April 17: 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  A dozen national and international dealers will be on hand with their finest works on paper for the benefit of the MIA Print and Drawings Acquisition and Educational Funds.  Best of all, admission is FREE!  Come spend an afternoon browsing and chatting with some of the finest minds in the business.  Hold a Rembrandt, Picasso, or Whistler in your own hands.  No purchase necessary, but don’t be surprised if your heart is captured by a small Steinlen drawing of Cats on a Rooftop, one of Koson’s delicate birds, or is moon struck by one of Yoshitoshi’s woodcuts!  This weekend, the Twin Cities is THE place to be!

In two weeks, we’ll be back in Chicago for the Merchandise Mart’s International Antiques Fair, held in conjunction with “Art Chicago,” the international fair of Contemporary and Modern Art, and “Next,” the invitational exhibition of emerging art.  The Antiques Fair runs from Friday, April 29 – Monday, May 2 on the 8th Floor of the Merchandise Mart in the heart of downtown Chicago.  Hours are Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.; Sunday: 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.; and Monday 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Adult admission is $20.00 a day, or $25.00 for a multi-day pass.  Seniors, Students and Groups can get a multi-day pass for only $15.00.  Children 12 and under are free.  And remember, passes are good for all three Merchandise Mart shows!  A special preview party with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and live music and benefiting the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago happens Thursday, April 28 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The International Antiques Fair is more than works on paper!  Over 100 dealers from around the world will dazzle with everything from fine art to jewelry, furniture to textiles, antiques to modernism.  There is literally something for everyone!  Tired of being on your feet?  Stop at one of the special events of the weekend, ranging from a book signing to lectures – even a special Royal Toast to William and Kate!  Visit for schedules and reservations, or check in on Face Book at  We hope to see our many friends and clients in Chicago!
